I am a Modi fan not because he represents hindutva but because he represents hope in the otherwise horrible landscape of below average leaders. My approach to Modi changed when I heard him speak extempore on a wide ranging issues. Iam not sure, He may even pale in comparison to many great world leaders. But he is far above the mediocrity that we see around us. I suppose that is why world leaders recognise his presence and claim he appears to be different and shows a lot of promise. If he does not succeed, India has lost another opportunity as many leaders have failed the nation. But if he succeeds and given his direction i feel he can that would be a big change for India and the world. When India gained independence, we had only two models to chose from. Nehru chose the Russian model. We cannot blame him as he was not a Lee Kuan Yew. A real visionary of his time. We reaped the consequence of our choices. In 1992 we realised our choice was not apt and attempted a course correction. We were right as the economic progress and the change in quality of lives of a large number proves. More jobs free enterprise. Government for governance and others for business is a model that has worked in many nations. If we make this choice we cannot be called traitor.

Thanks once again for a wonderful exposition even though I differ in some of your views.
